Happy 4/20! I was going to post a song from a Groundhogs album I’ve recently fallen in love with, but I’m not at home. Instead I’m in Vancouver nursing a dentist related wound with T3s and so I forgot my FTP password. So here’s a beauty from The End. Enjoy!
The End were a British psychedelic band of the 60s produced by Bill Wyman (of the Rolling Stones). Wyman arranged for them to tour with the Stones during their ‘65 tour, but it wasn’t until they signed with Decca that they were able to put a proper LP in 1969.
PS: It’s fun being able to blockquote yourself.
I so regret not buying this record when I saw it in the store…

The record is a great, chill summer album full of slow build ups and layered guitar hooks. Similar to groups like The Collectors and Stained Glass, the music is full of tasteful sax and keyboard work, and so the album is quickly becoming a new favourite of mine.
