Atomic Rooster was a progressive/psychedelic rock band from 70s England. I absolutely love this band’s funk groove. Their keyboard player, Vincent Crane, on this 1972 album took what amounted to total creative control, pushing the band away from their progressive rock roots and into soul and funk music (they had always dabbled in it anyway). Along the way he lost all of the band’s original members, one of which was Carl Palmer who moved onto ELP.
