Yawning Man released their first record in 2005, but they’d enjoyed almost 2 decades of playing shows before that release. They play a improvisation-heavy, instrumental brand of psychedelic rock with long, building song structures reminiscent of the 00s post-rock boom. But they probably prefer the label “desert rock,” a sub-genre so named because the bands, of which Yawning Man were a leading force during the 80s, would throw lengthy jam shows out in the Californian sands using portable generators.
😌🌵🌞🌌 Listened to this jam on the way in to work @ 5am in the fog——niiiiiiiiice☺
