Morse Code was a French-Canadian progressive rock band most active during the 70s. They started off as a psychedelic pop outfit, but as the 70s brought on an explosion of Quebecois prog, they changed gears and began releasing francophone records, the first of which is this gem. The album gets off to a romping start with this 11-minute journey, really highlighting the band’s bouncy guitar riffs which seem in direct opposition to the better known Quebecois act Harmonium. Sometimes I wonder whether I would have been a better student of French in high-school if I’d been introduced to some of the culture’s more impressive music.
