Liebman is an American saxophonist and flutist best known for his work on Miles’ funkified early to mid 70s jazz-fusion records. No question the dude plays a mean sax, but it is the mind-blowing guitarist John Abercrombie who completely steals the show on this one. Check the dirty tempo drop at 2:15 as everything slows down for some wild tribal percussion where everything in sight is struck. From tablas to congas, tambourines to bongos and more cowbells. They all belt along in a wild fury as Abercrombie takes the front and opens right up. Another gem on the fantastic ECM label.
