Mahavishnu Orchestra - Thousand Island Park
This is Jotcamp’s thousandth post, so I thought I’d post something “thousand” themed. This song is Thousand Island Park from Mahavishnu Orchestra’s 1973 record. They were an American progressive rock group that transitioned more and more into jazz fusion as their career continued. The band dissolved in 1976 but had a brief reunion during the 80s. This particular song is mostly pretty piano and acoustic guitar interplay, but a lot of their material involves psychedelic solo battles and dense big-band instrumentation.
