It’s A Beautiful Day were one of the earlier rock groups to feature a violin. This 1969 self-titled debut scored them a few hits, but they weren’t able to maintain commercial interest and disbanded by 1974. They tread the line between folk and progressive rock, sort of like Curved Air, but as Americans this band plays around with far more blues material. That’s not really represented on this track, a stringy, dual-vocals ballad, but elsewhere on this album you’ll fine some slashed-speaker guitar blues, making for an album full of interesting juxtapositions.
