Curved Air were a progressive rock band from the UK active during the 70s. They were of the same classical bent as Renaissance, but harnessed with strings rather than piano. They were plagued by changing band members, so much so that by 1973 they had to send Warner Brothers, their own record label, demo tapes which failed to convince the company to continue working with the ‘new’ band. After that, the only stable presence in the band was their lead vocalist, Sonja Kristina. This song, Stretch, is off of their 1970 debut record, the rare first edition of which featured the world’s first playable picture disc, which was present as a photo on the cover of most subsequent releases.
