I made this amazing folk discovery today: Prelude, a trio from the UK which has been since active since the early 70s, and although they’ve gone through some personnel hiccups, they’re still releasing albums. Their songs range from delicate folk ballads to rock thumpers with country touches. All three members sing very well, and, like in so many UK folk bands, two of the members are a married couple, Irene and Brian Hume. With this, their 1973, they scored a minor hit with an a capella cover of Neil Young’s After the Gold Rush, and it rescored when they did a rerecording of it in 1982.
